" Boy meets girl. Girl falls in love with boy. Boy makes sexual advances at girl. Girl eats boy! This is not exactly the plot of the book you are about to read. This is the continuing Twisted saga that catapulted Jessica Zafra to success and acclaim as the “voice of Generation-X” and the displaced youth who read her in the mid 1990s (although she won’t admit to this). These people have now evolved into the “establishment”, “middle-management” and “people with disposable income”—our target audience. I met Jessica after I wrote her fan mail complaining about a cat food shortage. That fan mail resulted in a friendship that enabled me to follow her around as a groupie, then evolved into a professional relationship. I got to design four books in her Twisted series, The 500 People You Meet in Hell, and a couple of other books and magazines she edited. For the record, she gave me my first writing break via Ukay-ukay, which appeared in her Flip Magazine. Twisted 8: The Night of the Living Twisted is designed like a non-linear novel with the titles of the essays as sub-headings. One can arbitrarily peruse the book, like an iPod in random mode. It contains exactly what one would expect from a Jessica Zafra collection: essays pertaining to cats, books, film, travel, tennis, and personal diaries, plus 3 Bonus Tracks of unpublished short stories.
Zeus Books—the name Jessica and I agreed to call our enetrprise—is the fulfillment of our dream to publish the sort of books we want to read. It is our contribution to the campaign to reduce the amount of stupidity in the world. - http://igeramos.multiply.com/"
